This is where we’ll write about PIM itself — not the code behind it, but the product: how to get the most out of it, the thinking behind how it’s built, and what’s changing as it grows. Expect walkthroughs, the occasional “here’s why we did it this way” on something we’ve deliberated over, and news as new features and platforms land.
To start, a bit of why PIM exists at all.
Most people’s personal life is scattered across tools that don’t talk to each other — a todo app, a calendar, a journal you keep meaning to open, a running log of what you worked on, and now, increasingly, an AI chat window that forgets everything the moment you close the tab. Each one knows a sliver of your life and none of the rest.
PIM puts journal, todos, work log, calendar, and mail in one place, and gives all of it to a single AI assistant that actually has the whole picture — not a chatbot bolted onto the side, but something more like a quiet, attentive companion woven into each part of PIM: it reads what you write in your journal, remembers it, and asks about it later the way someone who’s actually been paying attention would. It’s not clever for its own sake. It’s there to help you notice things about your own life you’d otherwise miss.
And it never leaves your machine. PIM’s AI runs locally through Ollama — no account, no subscription, no one else’s server holding what you wrote about your day.
We’ll get into all of this in more depth as we go — how each part of PIM works, why we made the choices we made, and what’s still ahead. For the full rundown of what’s in PIM today, see About; if you’d like to try it, see Get PIM.
